Pandemic Related Issues

Pandemic Related Issues

The Pandemic has caused unprecedented upheaval, anxiety, and despair in the world. If you have not had it yourself,  you very likely know someone who has. The disruption the pandemic has caused has impacted jobs, school, families, how we do basic things such as food shopping, and mental health. The ups and downs of hope and despair have caused many to feel emotionally exhausted and weary of Covid. Will it ever be over? Is it as bad as the news says it is? Do I still have to wear a mask? So many questions and the answers are not always clear.

Therapy can help you work through Covid fatigue, pandemic related problems, and the mental health issues you may be experiencing as a result of the pandemic.

Pandemic related issues in young adults

The Pandemic has wreaked havoc with the lives of teens and young adults. Many did not have a traditional graduation, and in 2020, at the start of the lockdown, many high school seniors unknowingly left their schools for the last time. They never got to say goodbye to their teachers and friends. As a result, we saw a rise in alcohol and substance abuse in teens and young adults. The forced isolation caused much depression and anxiety

Although things are significantly better now, teens and young adults are still adjusting to their new normal: in person classes, mask wearing, dating issues, and general overall pandemic fatigue. Many have suffered the loss of family and friends from Covid.

If you are struggling with Pandemic related issues and fatigue, give us a call or click on the Book Now button to schedule an appointment. With the support of a therapist, you can work through the issues that have brought you to therapy.

Pandemic related issues in children

Children have had a difficult time adjusting to the changes the pandemic has brought. They are sensitive to their parents’ anxiety levels and often are unable to express their fears and concerns in the same way adults do. You may see behavioral changes and also problems with sleep.

We will work closely with you and your child, using a variety of interventions to help your child better cope and adjust to the current “new normal.”
